Cat Cages Don't Have to be Cruel!

Cat Cages can be Fun Safe Havens For Your Babies

Cat cages sound cruel but they may be a necessary part of your cat's life if you have aggressive dogs or live in a high-risk area where coyotes or owls could hunt your furry children!

If you want to protect your cats from getting knocked over by cars, hurt by aggressive neighborhood dogs or hunted by predators, a solid cat cage is your best friend but don't think that just because it's for protection that it can't be fun! I've seen amazing cat cages with very happy kittens inside them having an absolute ball.

Building a cat cage is also a fun way of spending a few weekends and it will pay dividends for years to come!

Cat Cages for Multistorey Houses

Living in a multistorey house adds more dangers to the mix and you need to either forfeit having windows upstairs open or deal with the possibility that your cat will take a tumble some day. Cats may have 9 lives but let's not waste any, shall we?

The obvious solution seems to be a cat cage with a tunnel coming down from an upper-storey window. See the bottom right photo for an example. In this example, all the opening windows are barred up (but you can still open them for fresh air) and a tunnel is provided from one of the windows to an outdoor cat cage where your furry loved ones can have a ball, climbing around in the open, fresh air without fear of being devoured.

With cat cages, your only limitation is your imagination! With a little bit of space, time and cage-building materials, you can build a wonderful safe haven for your babies and give them a longer, safer, healthier life! (It's a known fact that indoor cats live up to 5 times longer than outdoor cats! Scary stuff!)

Apart from keeping your cats safe from predators and rushing cars in your road, what other uses can you think of for cat cages that help keep your cats safe and happy? Can you think of any out-the-box reasons to build a cat cage? Let me know in the comments!

We are having problems with a neighborhood cat who claimed our house as his territory before we moved in. A cat cage will save us the trouble of him causing issues with our babies. He has hurt one of our babies and she had to have surgery coz of it :( So this will definitely keep our babies safe!!!
